Tool, the Los Angeles rock band, is working on a new album that is expected to follow their upcoming tour. Fans of the band should be pleased to hear that this album won’t be taking nearly as long to come out as their last.
Justin Chancellor, Tool’s bassist, recently spoke on the Vinyl Guide podcast and said that the band has plenty of ideas and has been busy writing. However, they haven’t started recording yet, as they’ll be busy touring until next spring. He also noted that Tool has tons of material from their last album that isn’t quite ready yet, as well as many ideas stored away.
Drummer Danny Carey has also said that the band won’t be taking as long as 12 years to make the next album.
Tool are currently on a North American tour, with more US arena dates set for early 2024. Tickets for the shows can be found on their website.
The band’s last album, Fear Inoculum, was released in 2019 and was very well received. It was praised for its ability to touch the heart, soul, and spirit of listeners.
If you’re looking forward to Tool’s next album, you can check out Fear Inoculum while you wait.
