Sampha recently wowed BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month listeners with a stunning cover of Steve Lacy’s ‘Bad Habit’. The singer-songwriter showcased his talent with a piano-led performance of the single, backed by a sizzling drumbeat. He also performed his own track, ‘Only’, from his recent album ‘Lahai’.

The Live Lounge Month series also featured Usher’s take on Daniel Caesar and H.E.R.’s ‘Best Part’, Troye Sivan’s cover of Billie Eilish’s ‘What Was I Made For’ and Doja Cat’s rendition of Hiatus Kaiyote’s ‘Red Room’.

As Sampha prepared for the release of his album, he opened up about the spiritual themes he wanted to explore. After welcoming his first child in 2020, the singer said that his music became a place of ‘therapy’ and a way to make sense of the big questions in life.

Earlier this year, Sampha delighted fans with the release of his first single in six years, ‘Spirit 2.0’. The song followed his acclaimed 2017 Mercury Prize-winning debut album, ‘Process’. Fans can look forward to more of Sampha’s unique soul-infused sound on his most recent release, ‘Lahai’.
