SZA and Drake Team Up for “Slime You Out” Collaboration

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter SZA has revealed details about her recent collaboration with Canadian rapper Drake, ‘Slime You Out’. Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, the ‘SOS’ singer said that she initially thought Drake was trying to “sabotage” her when she handed him her first draft of the song.

SZA shared that when she plays demos to friends and collaborators, she often “won’t trust” them if they “accept my first draft.” “I just handed in the first draft to Drake, and he’s putting it on his album,” she said. “I’m scared because I handed in second vocals and he didn’t use that. And now I’m like, ‘Are you trying to sabotage me?’ I know that’s not true. I literally know that’s not true, but that’s how bad I feel about my first draft. When things come from an effortless space, I almost can’t enjoy it.”

SZA released the deluxe version of her album ‘SOS’ last December, with many fans praising her for redefining the R&B genre with her eclectic influences. The singer took to Twitter to announce that she might plan an intimate tour to celebrate the deluxe version, which she calls ‘Lana’. She also challenged Drake to open for her at her next Toronto date, after SZA cancelled due to illness. We can only hope that these two musical powerhouses team up for an unforgettable tour.
