Saying Goodbye to Deap Vally: Rock Duo Release New Single and Announce Final Tour Dates Across North America

Deap Vally have just released their latest single ‘Ventilator Blues’, a cover of The Rolling Stones’ iconic track. From the LA rock duo, this is the first glimpse of their upcoming album ‘Sistrionix 2.0’.

This re-recorded version of their breakthrough 2013 album is set to be released early in 2024 and can be pre-ordered here. Lindsey Troy, one half of the duo, said of their cover, “Covering ‘Ventilator Blues’ was a special privilege to pay homage to one of the greatest and most seminal bands in the history of rock ‘n’ roll.”

Deap Vally also released their other single ‘Baby I Call Hell (Deap Vally’s Version)’ in September, with Troy claiming it “captured the magic of the song”.

The duo have explained the reason behind their split, citing that their current lifestyles do not allow them to commit to the demands of being a traditional band. Lindsey Troy said “We need to find the balance where we can focus on the fun stuff, but have the freedom to make the music we love.”

Deap Vally are set to go on a final tour across North America starting in November, with tickets available here. The band have also promised UK shows soon, so keep an eye out for those.

This is a poignant end to a much-loved band, but with Deap Vally’s new album and final tour, there’s still plenty of music to look forward to.
