South Korean superstar Jungkook has released a new single and music video, ‘Standing Next to You’, from his debut solo album, ‘Golden’. The video follows the K-pop idol as he chases after a mysterious woman, while showcasing his impressive dance moves.
The record also features a number of high-profile collaborations, such as with DJ Snake on ‘Please Don’t Change’, Major Lazer on ‘Closer to You’, Ed Sheeran on ‘Yes or No’ and Shawn Mendes on ‘Hate You’.
In a pre-taped video, Jungkook talked about how he wants to become “a versatile artist who can perform a variety of songs from different music genres”. He went on to say that all of his experiences throughout his journey with BTS and his solo career have shaped him to be the artist he is today.
Last month, Jungkook achieved an impressive feat when his debut single ‘Seven’ became the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify, beating Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’ by just four days.
To celebrate the release of ‘Golden’, Jungkook will be hosting his first solo concert, titled ‘Golden Live On Stage’, in Seoul, South Korea later this month. Fans can find more information on the upcoming concert here.
