Gannett, the largest newspaper chain in the United States, has recently appointed a full-time Taylor Swift reporter. Bryan West, a journalist and Northwestern University graduate, was hired to work out of the Tennessee-based newsroom and report on all of Swift’s activities and releases.

West has long been a fan of Swift, having followed her career since she first emerged. He previously worked for an NBC affiliate in Phoenix, and his enthusiasm for Swift was so renowned amongst his colleagues that they often joked about it on-air.

West also shared his experience of taking the steps to get sober five years ago, and how he found comfort in joining a CrossFit gym and working with high school student leaders. But when his former colleague contacted him about a job opportunity that would see him report on Taylor Swift every day, West said that it felt like a “manifestation”.

Earlier this year, Swift released a re-recording of her 2014 album ‘1989’, which went on to become her best first week ever in sales. ‘Taylor’s Version’ of the album even surpassed the original in its opening week in sales, making it a huge success.

Swift has been a major influence in the music world for many years now and continues to make an impact on society and business. With West now on board as the full-time Taylor Swift reporter for Gannett, there is sure to be more exciting news to come!
