Legendary metal frontman Bruce Dickinson is set to release his first solo album in 18 years, ‘The Mandrake Project’, and has teased the lead single, ‘Afterglow Of Ragnarok’. The track, which Dickinson promises will stay true to his “heavy” roots and capture the album’s overarching theme, is set to drop on December 1 via BMG.

The upcoming album, Dickinson’s seventh solo LP, is centered around the struggle for power and identity and comes with a backdrop of scientific and occult genius. Fans can catch a preview of the song in the accompanying video.

In addition to the new single, Dickinson has announced a tour of the UK and Ireland, set to kick off in Spring 2024. He will bring the ‘The Mandrake Project’ to life with five shows across the UK, beginning with a stop at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom on May 18. He’ll then make his way to Manchester’s O2 Academy, Swansea Arena, Nottingham’s Rock City, and London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town. The tour will then continue through Europe, with performances in France, Holland, Hungary, Sweden, and Germany.

A 7” release of the single will feature a demo version of Dickinson’s original solo version of Iron Maiden’s ‘If Eternity Should Fail’ as the b-side. Further details on the album and tour will be revealed at Brazil’s Comic-Con event, CCXP23, on November 30.

With the release of his new single and tour announcement, Bruce Dickinson has reminded fans of the power and creativity of the metal genre. Don’t miss out on the chance to hear the new single and witness Dickinson’s iconic performance live in concert.
