Travis Scott has been hit with yet another lawsuit following the tragic events of the Astroworld Festival in November 2021. Eight attendees were killed in a fatal crush and two more died days later in hospital.
The grand jury concluded that Scott would not face criminal charges in June this year, but he is still dealing with lawsuits.
The latest suit comes from the company Ceremony of Roses, who had been hired to provide carnival-style amusements for the festival. Ceremony of Roses is suing Scott for “substantial financial harm” due to his “negligence and willful misconduct.”
The company claims they had an agreement with Scott and Live Nation that allowed them to recover their out-of-pocket costs plus 50% of all revenues. The agreement also required the rapper and promoters to ensure safety and professionalism.
Ceremony of Roses is now suing Scott for failing to provide a safe and secure environment. They invested at least $700,000 of their own money in the festival, and are now seeking compensation.
The hip-hop artist continues to tour and is currently on the Circus Maximus US tour, his first headline run since the Astroworld tragedy. Fans of the rapper are eager to see him live and have a good time, and Travis Scott is doing his best to deliver a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
