Bruce Springsteen has made an incredible surprise appearance at the Stand Up For Heroes charity event in New York City, performing the live debut of his brand new single ‘Addicted To Romance.’

The legendary singer-songwriter took to the stage with John Mellencamp, who introduced The Boss to the audience at the David Geffen Hall. This moment was particularly special, as Springsteen had to cancel the remaining dates of his 2023 tour due to a peptic ulcer.

The five-song set included the first ever live performance of ‘Addicted To Romance,’ a single he recorded with Bryce Dessner of The National. Springsteen also played two fan favourites from his iconic ‘Born In The USA’ LP, ‘Working On The Highway’ and ‘Dancing In The Dark,’ as well as ‘The Power Of Prayer’ from his 2020 album ‘Letter To You’ and ‘Wasted Days’ from his recent duet with Mellencamp.

The Stand Up For Heroes event is an annual tradition that raises funds for wounded veterans, and it’s no surprise that Bruce Springsteen was there to support the cause. It’s great to hear that The Boss is in great shape and is ready to get back out on the road. He and the E Street Band have announced a new run of European shows, including two UK dates in London. Tickets are available now, so make sure you don’t miss out on a chance to see Bruce Springsteen live in concert!
