Bring Me The Horizon are celebrating 10 years of their 2013 album ‘Sempiternal’ with a limited edition vinyl and cassette release. Fans can pre-order the LP now and the pressing and cassette are specially crafted to emphasize the music and complement the enigmatic artwork.
Frontman Oli Sykes opened up about the importance of the album, saying: “I feel like this is the album that changed everything for our band, both in commercial success terms and personal terms. I was struggling with addiction and my relationship with the band before this record was fractured and I felt the only way I could apologise for my actions was to knuckle down and pour everything into a record. This record brought our band closer than ever and for that it will always have a special place in my heart.”
When ‘Sempiternal’ was released, it was dubbed one of the most accomplished metal albums of 2013. The record was added to Nick Grimshaw’s Radio 1 breakfast show and contained ‘Shadow Moses’ and ‘The House of Wolves’ amongst other anthemic tracks.
Bring Me The Horizon are now gearing up for their fifth studio album ‘Post Human: NeX GEn’ which is inspired by emo and hardcore. Oli Sykes recently told NME that he wants to make the album “obnoxious, trashy and in your face” to pay homage to the genre. The album’s release date was recently pushed back and will serve as a follow up to 2020’s ‘Post Human: Survival Horror’.
The metal quintet also recently announced an Australian tour for spring 2024 with Sleep Token as support. This will be their first show in Australia since Good Things Fest in 2022. Tickets and more information can be found here.
