The Regrettes have announced their split after five years together to focus on other projects. The band made the announcement on their Instagram, and will be playing a farewell show on December 21 at The Fonda Theater in Los Angeles.
The Regrettes formed in 2015 and released three albums during their career – 2017’s ‘Feel Your Feelings Fool!’, 2019’s ‘How Do You Love?’ and 2022’s ‘Further Joy’. They also released a cover of Robyn’s 2010 single ‘Dancing On My Own’.
The band made headlines in 2020 when frontwoman Lydia Night accused SWMRS drummer Joey Armstrong of sexual misconduct, stating that they had dated for a year in 2017 when she was 16 and Armstrong was 22. Armstrong later left the band.
Cole Becker, of SWMRS, said the allegations “came as a shock” to him and disputed that Armstrong made Night keep the relationship a secret as she alleged. Night responded in a further statement.
Fans of the band can secure tickets to the farewell show on November 17 at 10am PT. This is sure to be an emotional and special show, with the band thanking fans for “giving us all some of the best years of our lives”.
The Regrettes have made an impact on the music industry since their formation in 2015, with their chart-topping albums and powerful statements. Their last show will be a celebration of their music and an appreciation of their fans.
