Sir Elton John was recently treated to a special rendition of one of his most beloved songs by the Manchester City players at Manchester Airport. The team changed the lyrics of ‘Your Song’ to “And you can tell everybody we’ve won the FA Cup” in honor of their recent win.
The star had been performing at Manchester’s AO Arena earlier that week, with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in attendance. Elton shared a photo of himself with the team on Instagram, where he congratulated them on their double win and wished them good luck for the upcoming Champions League final next week.
The ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour will finish with a headlining performance at Glastonbury at the end of the month. In a recent interview with BBC London, John commented that he was “a little intimidated” by the festival but was thrilled to have the opportunity to close the tour in England. He also revealed that the set list for Glastonbury will be “much different” than the standard set he has been performing on tour, and that there will be special guests accompanying him.
Elton John is no stranger to success, and his fans are sure to be looking forward to celebrating the end of an incredible tour with him at Glastonbury.
