Today, members of popular K-pop girl group LOONA have won their lawsuit against their former label Blockberry Creative. The Seoul High Court’s civil affairs department ruled in favour of Haseul, Yeojin, Yves, Olivia Hye and Go Won, suspending their contracts with the company due to a dispute over its decision to transfer the group’s contracts to Universal Japan without the members’ consent.

The victorious LOONA members have taken to social media to celebrate the news, with Yves posting an image of Nicole Kidman after her divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001 and Yeojin sharing a photo from the Harry Potter films of the character Dobby proclaiming: “Dobby is free”. Jinsoul, Heejin, and Kim Lip, who had their contracts with Blockberry Creative suspended back in January, also reacted to the news with posts and images of the girl group.

The development comes shortly after the remaining members of LOONA – Hyunjin and Vivi – signed contracts with new agency CTDENM, rumored to be headed by the former Blockberry Creative director Yoon Do-yeon. Furthermore, Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry have since joined Modhaus, an agency run by former LOONA creative director Jaden Jeong and home to up-and-coming K-pop girl group tripleS.

LOONA’s sub-unit Odd Eye Circle, made up of Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry, is preparing to make their long-awaited comeback soon, with new teaser images recently released. LOONA’s fans are sure to be delighted with this news, as well as the group’s legal victory against Blockberry Creative.
