Legendary electronic producer and artist Aphex Twin is back with a brand new EP, ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / in a room7 F760’, available to pre-order now. The first single, ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f’ is out now and can be heard below. The four-track project will be released on July 28 via Warp Records and will mark the first new music from Aphex Twin in five years.

The 2021 return of Aphex Twin has been highly anticipated, with cryptic teasers earlier in the year indicating a possible performance at Field Day 2023. This was later confirmed with Aphex Twin joining Bonobo as a headliner. The producer has not released a full-length album since 2014’s ‘Syro’, instead focusing on technological advances such as teaming up with British tech company ODDSound for the MTS-ESP plugin and launching the ‘Samplebrain’ sample matching app in 2022.

The artwork for ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / in a room7 F760’ was created by Weirdcore and the tracklist is as follows:

1. ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f’
2. ‘zin2 test5’
3. ‘In a Room7 F760’
4. ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f [Parallax Mix]’

Aphex Twin also recently performed at Sónar Barcelona 2023, with a QR code being posted in Los Angeles that linked to an augmented reality app with music and animation. The artist is now set to headline nine festivals this summer, including Syd For Solen, Rosendal Garden Party, Best Kept Secret, June Sonar, Castello Scaligero, Dour Festival, Field Day, Kalorama Festival, and Forwards Festival.

Be sure to check out the new EP from Aphex Twin and keep an eye out for more exciting news from the producer.
