Public Image Ltd have released their new single ‘Car Chase’ off of their upcoming album ‘End Of The World’. Listen to it now to hear the punk rock icons in action.
Lead singer John Lydon, formerly of the Sex Pistols, described the song as a “smash-and-grab” and “unpredictable to the last”. It tells the story of someone who cleverly escapes from a mental institution each night. The video for ‘Car Chase’ takes a behind-the-scenes look at the album’s recording sessions, and shows handwritten lyrics written by John Lydon.
‘Car Chase’ is the second single from the upcoming 11th album, the first being ‘Penge’. The album is dedicated to Lydon’s late wife Nora Forster, who died from Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 80. The album also includes the song ‘Hawaii’, which was written by Lydon as a love letter to his late wife.
Public Image Ltd attempted to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest with ‘Hawaii’, but were ultimately unsuccessful.
