Louis Tomlinson’s gig at Red Rocks in Colorado was abruptly called off this week after a severe hail storm caused more than 90 fans to be injured, seven of whom required hospitalization. The singer was in the midst of his North American tour in support of his second solo album ‘Faith In The Future’.

The storm hit suddenly during the show, with local fire rescue services saying that “tennis ball-size” hail resulted in multiple hospitalisations. Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre tweeted out an initial weather delay, before eventually cancelling the show.

Devastated about the show tonight, hope everyone’s ok, I’ll be back! Even though we didn’t play the show I felt all of your passion! Sending you all love!

The venue later tweeted out a statement acknowledging the incident, offering best wishes to those affected by the storm and thanking the teams at West Metro Fire, Stadium Medical, Argus, Aramark, Denver Fire, Denver Police, the Mountain Parks Rangers, staff and fans for their cooperation.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Red Rocks expressed an eagerness for Tomlinson and his fans to return to the venue soon for a replacement show. The former One Direction singer had opened his US tour last month by covering Arctic Monkeys’ classic ‘505’.
