Lana Del Rey’s Abrupt Glastonbury Set Brings Unexpected Sing-Along Moment

Lana Del Rey’s headline set at Glastonbury was brought to an abrupt end last night (June 24th). After arriving half an hour late, her microphone on the Other Stage was cut off mid-performance of her track ‘White Mustang’. With the audience left in confusion, Lana apologized before leading them in a sing-along of her hit ‘Video Games’.

The singer had earlier blamed her tardiness on the time it took to do her hair. “I was so fucking livid that I am about to rush this set today”, she said. “My hair takes so long to do, I love you. Let’s keep on running this set as it’s supposed to go.”

The setlist included ‘A&W’, ‘Young And Beautiful’, ‘Bartender’, ‘The Grants’, ‘Flipside’, ‘Cherry’, ‘Pretty When You Cry’, ‘Ride’, ‘Born To Die’, ‘Blue Jeans’, ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell’, ‘Arcadia’, ‘Candy Necklace’ and ‘Untraviolence’.

Following her performance, Lana left the stage and waded into the crowd to hug fans and take photos. Footage from the set was shared online, with many fans praising her for continuing to sing with the crowd.

The night also saw an Oscar winning collaboration at the Park Stage. Tilda Swinton joined composer Max Richter for a set, which was interrupted by a naked protestor. Meanwhile, Cate Blanchett appeared with Sparks for an early evening set.

Glastonbury 2023 is proving to be a memorable edition of the iconic festival. Keep up with all the latest news, reviews, photos, interviews and more on the NME live blog.
