“Max Richter, Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett Wow Crowds at Glastonbury 2023”

Today saw an incredible performance at Glastonbury Festival from Max Richter and Tilda Swinton, with a surprise interruption from a naked protestor.

The pair took to the Park Stage just after 11am, with Richter and his band setting the atmosphere with the 2004 “protest record” ‘The Blue Notebooks’. Swinton then joined them to recite works by Czeslaw Milosz, to the delight of the early risers.

“It’s an honour to be opening up this stage today,” said Richter.

However, the set was briefly interrupted by a naked man attempting to approach a microphone being used to record audience ambience, before he was escorted away by security.

The Park stage also saw another movie star collaboration this evening, with Cate Blanchett appearing with Sparks during their set.

Yesterday’s headline set was from Arctic Monkeys, and was also accompanied by a surprise performance from the Foo Fighters under the alias The Churnups.

Today’s lineup is just as impressive, with performances from Guns N’ Roses, Lizzo, Lana Del Rey, Manic Street Preachers, Måneskin and more. Plus, there are secret sets from The Pretenders, Blossoms and Rick Astley performing a set of Smiths covers.

For those who have missed out, you can still keep up to date with all the latest from Glastonbury 2023 and see reviews, photos, interviews and more.
