Troye Sivan has just released an amazing cover of George Harrison’s classic ‘My Sweet Lord’. Featured in HBO’s series The Idol, the track is the last to be taken from the official soundtrack of the show.
The popular singer and YouTuber has put his own spin on the 1970 classic, slowing it down and adding some electronic elements. The track slowly builds up to a chorus, with synths, a sub-bass, and other new aspects. It is a must listen for any Troye Sivan fan.
The Idol also stars Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd in the lead roles. The latter has also released a cover of a former Beatle, tackling John Lennon’s ‘Jealous Guy’ for the penultimate episode of the five-part series.
The Weeknd has also released two new songs for the show, ‘World Class Sinner/I’m A Freak’ and ‘The Lure’, featuring vocals from Depp. Both appear on the show’s soundtrack album ‘The Idol, Vol. 1’, along with Future-collaborative single ‘Double Fantasy’ and his team-up with BLACKPINK’s Jennie on ‘One Of The Girls’.
Troye Sivan is currently working on his third studio album, with his next single set to be titled ‘Rush’. The singer recently teased the upcoming LP on Instagram, which will be his first release since 2018’s acclaimed ‘Bloom’.
