Angie McMahon has released her latest single, ‘Letting Go’, from her upcoming album ‘Light, Dark, Light Again’. The track was originally written as a piano ballad, before becoming a big-hearted rock song. Its theme is about embracing the new knowledge that comes from making mistakes; learning not to dwell on the past.
McMahon’s sophomore album is set to explore the darker reaches of one’s interior world and how entering those places can ultimately lead to brighter, more hopeful stages of life. ‘Light, Dark, Light Again’ is due for release on October 27th via AWAL.
In 2019, Angie McMahon released her debut album ‘Salt’ which debuted at number five on the ARIA charts and earned her Best Independent Rock Album at the AIR Awards. In 2020, she followed up with her EP ‘Piano Salt’, a piano-driven accompaniment to her debut album.
In support of her new album, Angie McMahon will embark on the Make Mistakes Tour this September. She will be playing shows in Naarm/Melbourne, Eora/Sydney, Los Angeles, New York City and London. Tickets go on sale 12pm local time on Wednesday, July 19th.
