Legendary musician Paul McCartney has recently revealed the upcoming launch of his new podcast, ‘McCartney: A Life In Lyrics’. This podcast will allow listeners to learn the anecdotes behind some of the most popular songs from the former-Beatles and Wings frontman’s career.
The podcast will include songs such as ‘Eleanor Rigby’, ‘Let It Be’, and ‘Live and Let Die’. McCartney was joined in the first season of the podcast by fellow poet Paul Muldoon, who wrote the foreword to McCartney’s best-selling book ‘The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present’. Muldoon commented that “when we listened back to the tapes, we realized there was something very special happening in these conversations… like going back to an old snapshot album, looking back on work I haven’t thought much about for quite a few years.”
The podcast is being co-produced by Pushkin Industries and iHeartPodcasts, and is scheduled to release on September 20th, 2023. Fans can binge all of the first season of the podcast immediately with a Pushkin+ subscription, or alternatively, can start listening to the first episode via iHeartRadio, Apple, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. There will be 12 episodes in the first season, and a further 12 in the second season, set for release in February 2024.
In other news, Ringo Starr recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming ‘last’ Beatles song, which had been created by McCartney with the help of artificial intelligence. Starr clarified that “it’s not down to AI… that is actually John’s voice, Paul’s voice and bass playing, George [Harrison] on rhythm guitar and me on drums.”
This podcast offers a unique insight into the life and works of Paul McCartney, and fans of the iconic musician are sure to be eagerly awaiting the release.
