Guitar legend Slash recently revealed that the idea of a Guns N’ Roses biopic is not likely to come to fruition in the near future. In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, the musician expressed that he does not see how the story of the band could be accurately depicted in a film.
Slash noted that most biopics tend to be over-exaggerated non-genuine tales, and that he would not want to take part in the making of a movie that would not do the band justice. The lead guitarist has, however, recently been involved in a number of film projects, including Barbie and the upcoming horror movie The Breach, for which he created the score.
The musician recently celebrated his 58th birthday with a memorable performance in Athens, Greece. During the show, frontman Axl Rose made sure to make the evening special for Slash by having the entire crowd sing him ‘Happy Birthday’. Slash took to Twitter to thank the 50,000 people for their amazing send off.
Rumors have been circulating that Guns N’ Roses are in the process of releasing a new single. Tom Mayhue, the band’s longtime production manager, has said that the new material sounds similar to the classic sound heard on their debut album, Appetite for Destruction.
The band continues to tour until October, while Slash is also working on an exciting TV series in England – though he has yet to reveal the details. With new music on the way and a special performance in Greece, Guns N’ Roses fans have plenty to look forward to.
