Hot Chip have unveiled their highly anticipated new single, ‘Fire Of Mercy’, featuring the renowned Yunè Pinku. The track is the first new music from the band since the release of their chart-topping album ‘Freakout/Release’ in 2020.

Describing the creative process behind the single, Joe Goddard of Hot Chip said: “Fire of Mercy’ relates to the central concept of William Blake’s ‘Songs of Experience’ – it bemoans the corruption that inevitably comes from adulthood and longs for a return to the purity of childhood.”

Yunè Pinku also commented on the collaboration, saying: “It was a massive honor to work with Hot Chip as they’re huge legends within the electronic world. When they played me Fire of Mercy and asked me to jump on the track, I was thrilled to work with them.”

The band will be performing the single live later this year at the newly opened Drumsheds venue in Tottenham, London. The 608,000 square foot warehouse has been transformed into a live music venue that can accommodate up to 15,000 people. The venue has been created and curated by the Broadwick team, who are also behind Printworks, The Beams, Depot Mayfield, and more.

Recently, Hot Chip also shared footage of Harry Styles performing their hit single ‘Over And Over’. The band posted the clip on Instagram, jokingly captioning it: “Introducing the newest member of Hot Chip…”

If you haven’t already, be sure to give ‘Fire Of Mercy’ a listen. It’s sure to be a hit with Hot Chip fans and music lovers alike.
