Turnstile Makes History Throwing First Pitch at Orioles Game

On Tuesday 8th August, Turnstile had the honour of throwing the first pitch at the Baltimore Orioles game held at Oriole Park in Camden Yards. The Baltimore natives celebrated with their guitarist Pat McCrory taking the mound to deliver the ceremonial first pitch, while frontman Brendan Yates, drummer Daniel Fang and bassist Franz Lyons cheered him on from the outfield.

In an interview before the pitch, McCrory shared that the Orioles season was inspiring songs for the band, with a demo already in the works. He also described his perfect day at an Orioles game, which includes a hotdog, a collectible cup and his mum and friends. Yates added that it was special being able to return to the park with family, and the band was happy to be there.

Turnstile had a successful summer, serving as opening support for Blink-182 on their North American tour, and being nominated for three Grammy Awards. The band had to cancel their London show at Brixton Academy due to the venue’s closure, but they debuted a new song called ‘Listening’ earlier this year as part of the third season of Netflix sketch show I Think You Should Leave. The fourth episode featured a track by The Everything-You-Knows, which is made up of Turnstile’s Yates, McCrory, Fang and Lyons.
