BTS’s V is set to bring a unique and special sound to his upcoming solo EP ‘Layover’. The first track ‘Love Me Again’ has been released and it’s sure to tug at the heartstrings of ARMYs everywhere. The song is a minimal composition with guitar melodies and sparse beats, while V sings, “I wish you would love me again / No, I don’t want nobody else.”
The accompanying music video sees V performing the song in a cavernous space with TVs displaying the lyrics. ‘Rainy Days’, the second track on the EP, will be released on Friday 11th August. This will be followed by the full EP on 9th September, which will include the ’70s romantic soul-style track ‘Slow Dancing’, the piano arrangement of ‘Slow Dancing’, and the R&B track ‘For Us’.
The project has been led by Min Hee-jin, the CEO of ADOR label NewJeans. Min has previously held the role of creative director at SM Entertainment, where she worked on acts such as Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO and Red Velvet.
V has previously shared solo works through BTS’ Soundcloud page, including ‘Winter Bear’ and ‘Snow Flower’, as well as being featured on K-drama soundtracks like ‘Sweet Night’ and ‘Christmas Tree’. Jungkook, the last BTS member to make his solo debut, released ‘Seven’ earlier this year and is aiming to release his debut solo mini-album by November 2023.
