Florence + The Machine have released an expansive compilation playlist, ‘Under Heaven Over Hell’, compiled by the band’s frontwoman Florence Welch. Featuring 39 tracks from all five of the band’s studio albums, the playlist includes hits from their debut, ‘Lungs’, as well as their more recent releases, ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’, ‘High As Hope’ and ‘Dance Fever’.
Welch took to Instagram to announce the playlist, writing that it was a welcome to new fans and a thank you to those who have embraced the latest album. She went on to encourage fans to listen to the compilation in unique ways, from running through a field to drinking fake blood and crying glitter.
The latest album, ‘Dance Fever’, was met with enthusiasm from fans and critics alike. NME praised the record as one that “is largely obsessed with reclamation, not just of the dancefloor, but of love and selfhood”. They went on to describe the album’s lyrics as “gut-punch” and “profoundly more haunting” than her previous work.
The success of ‘Dance Fever’ has seen Florence + The Machine touring festivals across Europe this summer, and Welch had an emotional reaction to seeing one of her songs featured in the final installment of the ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ franchise.
The compilation playlist ‘Under Heaven Over Hell’ is available to stream now and offers fans an opportunity to revisit some of Florence + The Machine’s greatest hits.
