Irish singer-songwriter and activist Sinéad O’Connor was reportedly in talks to make her 2021 autobiography Rememberings into a biopic just weeks before her death. At the age of 56, O’Connor was found unresponsive in her London home on July 26th, 2021.

The biopic was set to feature three actresses in the lead role, including Demi Moore, Little Women star Saoirse Ronan, and Malpractice actress Niamh Algar. According to a source, O’Connor was very enthusiastic about exploring the idea of creating the film and had a number of ideas about how the film should be portrayed.

The musician’s funeral was attended by Bob Geldof and Bono, and a heartwarming tribute to O’Connor was crafted on cliffs overlooking her hometown. The tribute featured the words ‘Eire’ (the Irish name for Ireland) and ‘Sinéad’ separated by a heart. Creative director of the agency responsible for the tribute, Richard Seabrooke, explained that it was essential for Ireland to have the opportunity to say goodbye to the beloved singer.

Irish band The Murder Capital also shared footage of them playing one of O’Connor’s tracks at a live show to pay homage to her. Russell Crowe also remembered a chance encounter with the musician. O’Connor’s legacy and impact on the music industry will live on, and her fans will continue to be inspired by her work.
